1. DePaul University Alternative Spring Break

2019 DePaul University ASB. Canyon Rims RA, Moab (Utah)

March 23-30, 2019

Located in the heart of the Colorado Plateau, the Bureau of Land Management's Moab Field Office serves 1.8 million acres of scenic canyon country. Carved by the Colorado and Green Rivers, Moab's public lands include a vast variety of arches, natural bridges, mesas, and spires. These lands comprise an internationally recognized recreation destination. The extraordinarily scenic and diverse landscape, the accessibility of the great rivers, the presence of interesting cultural and paleontological resources, and the opportunities for a wide range of recreational activities have made the Moab area very popular for those seeking outdoor experiences. Recreational opportunities range from casual sightseeing, moments of solitude and hiking to more physically demanding activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing, and river running.

This service project entails trail work on the Trough Springs Trail and offers views of Bears Ears National Monument and Canyonlands Nation Park in the area of our campground. The Trough Springs Trail is a 2.5-mile long trail which descends 1,100ft with an awesome view climbing down into the canyon. Participants will be building steps, constructing drainages, and retaining walls. Participants will also help in trail delineation and brushing.
